Virginia Mautte

Virginia Mautte comes from a line of musicians. As a 3rd generation musician, she started piano at age 3 with her grandmother and started horn in the 5th grade when she moved to CT. It was actually only one of three instrument choices from the music teacher, because she could already read music. In addition to playing with her high school band, Virginia also performed in CT Valley Youth Wind Ensemble (Peter Boonshaft conductor). She received a Bachelor of Music Performance & Studio Teaching from Susquehanna University and did graduate work with Francis Orval at University of Delaware, as well as graduate work with Stanislav Suchanek at University of New Mexico. Virginia has performed with the Delaware Repertory Orchestra and currently plays with the Lake Norman Orchestra.
