Melanie Hudson Watson

Melanie H. Watson is the Band Director at Starmount Middle School in Northwestern North Carolina. Melanie attended Catawba College for her undergraduate degree and received her Masters in Music from East Carolina University. She is currently serving as the President of Women Band Directors International – NC. In addition to her teaching duties, Melanie maintains an active performing schedule. She has served as the 4th Horn in the Salisbury Symphony since 2015, 4th Horn in the Piedmont Wind Symphony since 2021, and 2nd Horn in the Western Piedmont Symphony since 2023. Melanie resides in North Wilkesboro with her husband, Keegan, and two dogs, Bella and Lia.
